Schindler Group is the largest supplier of escalators and the second largest manufacturer of elevators worldwide. Schindler is also the mobility provider for major Indian projects, including the Metros of Mumbai and Delhi as well as a new terminal for Chennai (formerly Madras) airport. The contracts were concluded in the first half of 2009 and installation of elevators and escalators is due to start later this year.
