Academy Award Winner Paul Debevec in India

Visual effects pioneer Paul Debevec discussed his advances in creating realistic facial animation in a talk titled “From Spider-Man to Avatar: Achieving Photoreal Digital Actors.”

Debevec won a Scientific and Engineering Academy Award in 2010 for his work on Avatar. He is a research associate professor and associate director of graphics research at USC’s Institute for Creative Technologies.

Mediacenter arranged the entire sets, as well as all the Sound requirement for the event.

Of special note was the Giant Large Screen & the HD Projector (16 x 9 aspect ratio) used for his High Tech Presentation. Mediacenter was specially thanked by Prof. Debevec at the end of the lecture from the stage in front of the entire crowd:
