Broadband communications firm Polycom (Nasdaq: PLCM) has acquired its biggest competitior, PictureTel (Nasdaq: PCTL), for $362 Million in stock and cash.
The agreement, pending federal and shareholder approval, is expected to boost Milpitas-based Polycom's position in the online video communications technology sector.
